EDGE successfully developed the crew doors and related door sub-systems for the initial MRAP and other armored vehicles. Our responsibilities included door design, analysis, fabrication and integration with the overall vehicle structure. Key features that were developed and considered during the program included door sealing, blast locks, latches, handles, emergency egress and door/hull interface. During the period of performance, EDGE coordinated and managed a multi-disciplined team of mechanical engineers, human factors specialists and fabrication personnel.
